Man, that’s a nice catch!
Let me know how the Farmer and Coupland are, and I’ll be bugging you about borrowing the Wild Cards as soon as I work through what I’ve got on my reading shelf now (so, six months at least).

Volume 1 is one of the good Wild Cards books, although it’s uneven. I came in at 2, which might be my favorite with the big alien invasion, and 3 was a nice wrap-up. 4 and 5 get darker (4 is a fucking impressive ‘mosaic-novel’, where the different writers’ strands are woven one into the other at the paragraph level, and 5 had tantalizing wonderful bits of world background, with Martin giving us the low-down on Israel/Palestine, among other places). I never got round to reading 6 and 7, and I figure it was probably good to quit before they brought on Chris Claremont around number 8.
God, that’s a flash of nostalgia.
