Iggy Pop – The Idiot
Bob Dylan – Another Side Of Bob Dylan
Jonathan Richman and the Modern Lovers – Back In Your Life
The Classic Rock String Quartet – A Classic Rock Tribute to Bowie
The Flaming Lips – Clouds Taste Metallic
David Bowie – Black Tie White Noise

Philip Jose Farmer – To Your Scattered Bodies Go
George R. R. Martin (ed) – Wild Cards vol. 1
P.G. Wodehouse – The Inimitable Jeeves
Douglas Coupland – Girlfriend in a Coma
O’Henry – 100 Selected Short Stories

The Tempest, by William Shakespeare
The UN Inspector, loosely based on Gogol’s Inspector General

And one Pixies show, full of sweating and jumping and shouting and lights and waving and sounds and pushing and people and shoving and a kick-ass show that was totally worth it.

If you want to know anything else, feel free to ask.

Man, that’s a nice catch!

Let me know how the Farmer and Coupland are, and I’ll be bugging you about borrowing the Wild Cards as soon as I work through what I’ve got on my reading shelf now (so, six months at least).

Volume 1 is one of the good Wild Cards books, although it’s uneven. I came in at 2, which might be my favorite with the big alien invasion, and 3 was a nice wrap-up. 4 and 5 get darker (4 is a fucking impressive ‘mosaic-novel’, where the different writers’ strands are woven one into the other at the paragraph level, and 5 had tantalizing wonderful bits of world background, with Martin giving us the low-down on Israel/Palestine, among other places). I never got round to reading 6 and 7, and I figure it was probably good to quit before they brought on Chris Claremont around number 8.
God, that’s a flash of nostalgia.
